Lockheed P-80 Shooting Star
The Shooting Star, designed by Kelly Johnson, was the first U.S. jet fighter. The jet first flew in 1944 and entered service with the USAAF in 1945. The P-80 was briefly operational at the end of World War II and saw combat during the Korean War.
