F-4 Phantom II
The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II was first developed for the United States Navy and entered service in 1960. This fighter-bomber is a large, formidable aircraft that has a top speed of Mach 2.2 and is capable of carrying a devastating payload. The F-4 was used during the Vietnam war in many roles including air superiority, ground-attack and reconnaissance. This long-serving type continued operational duties during the Gulf War in 1991.
